My guest today is a friend and inspiration when it comes to design collaborations. She is the founder of Altrd Studio - the place where you bring an idea, and we breathe it to life.

Jess Wells began her design career many years ago working for Lisa Messenger at the much adored Collective Hub magazine. After moving onto Aussie favourites, Seafolly and Miléa, she took a chance job offer that saw her relocate to Los Angeles to pursue her career within the fashion industry.

Since returning home to Australia, Jess has steadily built her client base and portfolio to focus on bigger projects and clients whose values mirror her own.

Having experienced the dark and wasteful side of the fashion industry first-hand, Jess has committed her future to collaborating only with clients whose hearts and back pockets are “in the right place”.

This episode we drop the formalities and this one is much like a conversation between girlfriends. We dive into Jess’s story, how she came to be led by values and learned big lessons around boundaries, her business model and finding her fit as a designer.
