In September 1991, Rick Worthington broke into the Women's Center of Alta View Hospital in Sandy, UT with guns and a plan to blow up the entire building. He was furious that a doctor sterilized his wife even though she requested it. During the ensuing 18-hour hostage situation, he held nurses, newborns, and patients (including a laboring mom) inside the hospital with a pile of dynamite.
