Growing up, I tended to view God's holiness and love as opposites. God's holiness entails his wrath, while his love entails his mercy. Is this how Scripture treats these attributes? Or do holiness and love go hand-in-hand, working toward the same goal?

How can we truly affirm that God is unchangeable, when several Scriptures appear to say the opposite? What lessons can we learn from this topic about how to study Scripture?

How terrifying would it be if God could change! How could we trust his promises, or worship him as the Perfect One? Indeed, God’s unchangeableness is essential to who He is.

Does God’s independence make him cold and distant? Is his self-existence merely an abstract concept, irrelevant in our daily lives?
