We are not perfect, in fact, and we are perfectly safe being flawed.
When we operate out of the fact that we have to earn acceptance, love and safety by being perfect, it causes the nervous system to be hyper-vigilant and in a constant state of earning safety.
The brain will constantly be looking for rejection and disapproval. This causes hyper-vigilance and pain.
The truth is, we are made perfect through the cross and we can stop striving. HIs blood makes us perfect, and therefore we can be safe in our imperfection.
