After Day 1 of one of the most anticipated free agency periods in NBA history -- due to the sheer volume of players and money available -- was won by the Brooklyn Nets, who agreed to max contracts with All-Stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. 

Meanwhile, you could argue that every other relevant team in the East got worse.

The MLB arrives in London right after England's embarrassing 64-run loss to Australia in the Cricket World Cup. We're right in the middle of the FIFA World Cup, where the English women have reached the semifinals. The area is gearing up for the start of Wimbledon next week.
