The first College Football Playoff rankings were unveiled Tuesday with one whopper — undefeated, national champion Clemson in the No. 5 spot. It's the first time a defending champ has missed the top four in the initial rankings.

The first College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday night, likely leading with some combination of Ohio State, LSU, Alabama and Clemson. History tells us about half of those teams won't make the playoff. Only 11 of the 20 teams that debuted in the top four have advanced since the CFP inception.

The Dolphins traded a future 7th round draft pick to the Rams in exchange for All-Pro corner Aqib Talib and a 2020 fifth rounder, adding to their haul of draft capital that now includes 13 selections in next year's draft alone.
