Saying YES. Tt is so refreshing to choose to say YES vs NO. Noah has recently started to say ‘NO Sir’ and he learned that from me (Ashley). Haha. There are times that we need to say ‘No’ … but we are learning how to word things differently and be able to say YES more often. The joy on their faces when they hear YES is the sweetest and so fun to see!

Do you like being right? Do you often feel like you are right? We must admit, we do feel ‘right’ most of the time. Haha. We are learning that is is more important to do WHAT is right rather than simply WHO is right. This takes humility, patience and trusting God above all. We no longer have to feel like we need to justify ourselves.

Do you make reading a priority!?!? Did you know that reading helps keep your brain sharp? We challenge you to choose an amount of time to read each day. This helps you to create a healthy habit! It is so much more about the consistency than how many books you read… and you may be surprised by just how many you can knock out when your perspective changes!

We have an amazing neighbor who has taken us under his wing! He often shows up at our door with freshly baked cake or dinner. He shared with us that he had a neighbor like this growing up, and he wants to be that for others. What an amazing legacy!

Do you ever think back to your dating days and realize that you pursued each other a lot more then? We can sometimes get so comfortable with that person just being here, that we forget that we still desire to be pursued. What is something you can do today to let your spouse know that you love them?

Waco feels like home. Ashley’s grandparents and other family members live in Waco. Ashley is a Baylor Bear and James has become one by marriage! Haha. This is one of our favorite weekend getaways! Refreshment, fun and family! Not to mention… the biscuits and gravy! Yum!

Ashley is enjoying a full day work event while James is with the boys! As parents, we must recognize that we are in this together. We are a team and we are both simply spending time with our kids… not babysitting! This season of life often has times when one of us has to be gone at night or on the weekends. These times can either bring frustration, or we can make the most of them and enjoy our one on one time with our boys! Let’s embrace these moments with our kids and cheer on our spouse at the same time!

Do you have The Storybook Bible!?!? This is our favorite to read with our boys. We honestly have to hold back tears a lot of times as it points back to Jesus at the end of each Bible story. This is such a sweet way for us to teach our kids about God, and who Jesus is.

Happy Episode 50!! Woo hoo! We have been learning a lot as we go. This has reminded us of the importance of repetition. We must keep going. Go ahead, take that first step and learn as you go!

Seeing James after his run… Are you melting into ice!?!?! This was Owen’s reaction after a recent run. We are running the Magnolia 5K at the end of April! This means we are needing to up our running game for sure! We have a treadmill that we utilize but now we are running outside when we can as well! This is the first run that we are going to try to do together and stay together the whole time!
