Simo is one of my best friends in the industry, and also one of the most frequently requested guests, so I think you are going to like this one. Over the years, Simo and I have bonded about our positioning and ambitions in the analytics industry, and we are part of the same cohort of bloggers who started at the end of 2012 or early 2013. Even though he’s located in Finland, we have ended up running into each other in-person over 10 times since we both joined the speaking circuit.
Of course, since his humble beginnings, Simo has skyrocketed to a level of geek-internet-famous that I can’t say that anyone expected. Especially Simo and his Finnish self deprecating humor. It’s been a blast to watch him surpass me on so many levels.
I still remember the first time when I shared my traffic numbers with Simo, and he was in awe that the site was getting 10k visitors a month.
A year later, he shared his visitor numbers – and they completely dwarfed what I was doing at Jeffalytics. So how did it all happen? We dig into the details in my interview with the master.
