A statement from Blake on creating this piece:

"Last week. It was one of the ways that I tried to process what was going on. I wanted to write something that felt like an emotional release for me, but that was also able to penetrate the souls of people who don’t understand how racism impacts our country. It’s for people who don’t understand the BLM movement. I want to build a bridge between my experience and there’s. There’s so much division and it’s consistently getting worse. I’m just trying to find ways to not go crazy and maybe do some healing along the way."
