It has always been said that the golf season really doesnt get started until the first edition of FLagstick Golf Magazine hits the newstand. Of course it is not so much the nesstand as it is your inbox but nevertheless the first edition of Flagstick Golf Magazine has been released and in it the most anticipated part of the issue...HOT PICKS 2K21.

I circled the calendar for this very episode because I knew that with the release of Hot Picks came the welcoming of Flagstick's Scott MacLeod to the show to dive deep into all things equipment with the guru, the man responsible for compiling the beast that is Hot Picks. I will be spending the show talking about everything related to equipment...talking driver, irons, wedges, putters and more.

This is is going to be an outstanding episode to tune into.

It's Master Weekend and that generally means that in a normal golf season around the 613 Region that golf courses would just be starting to get open but not to the level we are at this season. As we see close to 40 courses throughout the region opening you cant help but get crazy excited about golf.

Just as we thought golf course were going to be openings in masses this holiday weekend we get the a snow arriving weather forcast. That said, who cares...there are plenty of driving ranges open for business and the cold snap should only last for a couple days anyway, but at least you have this Podcast to keep you company.

Andy's business, Golf Sim Gurus, can custom build to any space and fit most budgets...I plan to get to the bottom of just how expensive, how extravagant and how AWESOME these build's can be.

Now that golf courses are finally opening and golfers throughout the 613 are flocking to the open driving ranges to get ready for their first rounds of the year, the 613 Golfer Podcast is beginning to evolve. As we begin to progress into the golf season our show will start to add some new segments and elements to keep everyone informed and golf ready.

This episode we talk with Roger Beale from the Marshes Golf Club who returns to Ottawa to take on the Head Pro role. Our newest segment, the 613 Golfer Podcast Regional Golf Report kicks off with Scott MacLeod aimed at bringing everyone up top speed on happenings throughout the region and Kevin Haime gives us a little Quick Tip to help us with something to work on when practicing in our Instruction segment.

Episode 4 will be an episode to remember.

As the start of the golf season in the 613 inches closer, more and more information starts to come out about how the golf scene is going to shape up for the new season. As that continues to happen we are going to get the people on the show to shed some light on the many changes that we might see to get us a bit more motivated for golf.

On the episode, Carol Ann Baxter, the Executive Director of the PGA of Canada Ottawa Zone stops by to talk about her road to the position she currently holds, the hiccups in 2020 that they learned from, the new Flagstick.com Players Tour Schedule and the PING Challenge Cup.

Our second guest, Dru Lafave, is the Tournament Director for the Ottawa Valley Golf Association and he shares with us some of the new events on tap for 2021 within the OVGA as well as a couple big announcements comming out of the lattest OVGA Board meetings.

It should be absolutely awesome and imformative show to tune in to.

Building on our successful first episode launch, the 613 Golfer Podcast is bringing some exciting content to episode 2. Featuring interviews with Canadian Pro Shop Online's Lee Tamburano and Chris Veltkamp of the Play Junior Golf Tour, there should be something for any 613 Golfer to enjoy listening.

Out of the gate we chat with Lee Tamburano, the brain behind the Canadian Pro Shop Online. This green grass pro shop retailer has taken the on course golf shop to another level becoming the second largest online golf retailer in Canada.

Next we dive into the world of Junior golf with Play Junior Golf Tour's CHris Veltkamp. Chris has taken a passion for junior golf and built it into the regions top junior golf tour...who knows what is next.

Getting back to the roots of Flagstick Golf Magazine being a publication serving Eastern Ontario and the National Capital Region, the 613 Golfer Podcast aims to reach out and talk golf on both the YouTube and Audio Podcast Platforms and our first episode does just that.

Talking with Greg Chambers from the Ontario Golf Expo Online to discuss what is coming up March 8-14 with the newly created Online Golf Expo. Greg explains how the show will look and feel and why golfers in the 613 as well as the rest of the province will enjoy the week.

Secondly, we talk to Flagstick Golf Magazine, Associate Publisher and equipment guru, Scott MacLeod. Not many more connected or knowledgeable about golf equipment in the industry and Scott has been responsible from compiling Flagstick's Hot Picks for 20 plus years. It is worth a listen.

Wrapping up the show with a bit of an update on what is happening with the 2021 Flagstick Open Amateur Championship.
