Connect My Brain

62. Pain and your body's check engine light with Nate Deitz

Listen Later

In this episode I had the pleasure of speaking with (soon to be Dr.) Nate Deitz. Nate has joined me over at Connect My Brain and I'm so glad he was able to share with us today. When Nate was a kid, he was climbing and fell 6 feet, landing on his head. This resulted in a major concussion and from there his health started to snowball out of control. In the midst of dealing with that, he also watched his mom's health drastically decline as she battled misdiagnosed health conditions for almost 20 years. Eventually she saw a naturopath who put her on an intense detox and sent to her to a chiropractor. When she did this, her health completely turned around in just two weeks. Watching his mom's health journey unfold is really what shifted Nate's perspective on health. He is now a firm believer in getting to the root cause of health issues.

As we talked, Nate shared a great analogy of pain being like the check engine light in a car. Getting rid of pain but not addressing the cause of the pain is like seeing the check engine light come on in your car and just covering it up with a piece of tape. Pain is your body's way of telling you there is a problem that needs to be addressed. If you're not getting to the root cause of that pain, you will never reach full health and you will likely see your health worsen. Nate is relatively new to the field of chiropractics but that doesn't mean he isn't really good at what he does. I loved talking with Nate and hearing his perspective and I think you'll enjoy this conversation, too!
