In this episode we discuss why your spiritual side is so vital to the life of your dreams.
The disconnection of our spirit from our soul, our soul from our spirit and both from our mind/body connection deeply keeps us locked in survival patterns and behaviors where we evidence to ourselves that we are lacking and have a low worth or value.
A spiritual bypass is another way of coping with pain and putting invisible defense mechanisms (automatic survival pattern) into play to prevent us from feeling pain. The separation of our spiritual self begins to numb our sense of self and our needs because our needs and our sense of self keep getting us into trouble where we are supposed to be loved, seen, valued, cherished.
Confusing AF isn’t it? But here’s the good news! It stops being confusing once we accept that we do not have to live out of balance with our self and live life for other people. A narcissistic parent would be a good example of being born into living your life to the tune of the toxic parent. You’re never going to change them, but you have the magic key to changing you!
Think of how some of your automatic survival patterns, like perhaps, people pleasing, over apologizing, perfectionism, avoidance behaviors, dissociation, hyper-vigilance, abandonment fears, lack of boundaries, difficulty with communication come to light in the complexity of your daily life. Instead of being in balance with your sense of confidence, independence your fight, flight, freeze, fawn takes over and you struggle with understanding how you fit into the world.
You may even have guilt at taking up space with your ideas, thoughts, talents and gifts. You are intermingled with your trauma and may even feel as though you are surviving life, rather than creating, planning and thriving in life.
