Long-term health conditions don’t just impact individuals; they have significant economic consequences. In the UK, these conditions make up around 50% of GP appointments and 70% of hospital bed days.

It’s estimated that unpaid carers contribute around £132 billion to the UK economy each year—that’s almost the equivalent of the NHS budget.

The World Economic Forum estimates that chronic diseases could cost the global economy $47 trillion by 2030 due to lost productivity and increased healthcare demands.
