I’ve had the recent task of working through both scripts with my coaching clients and essays with my twin boys applying to schools. What’s common in both processes is the consant grinding away at editing. Too many people put the least amount of effort into building out the expression of their thoughts and stop far too early before ever really being able to fully express themselves. I’ve discovered that you start with a mind dump, then chunk the major thoughts into a logical order and then edit away until you have the simplest articulation of your thoughts so you can effectively communicate your ideas.
