While reading Angela Duckworth’s book, GRIT, she refers to the work of her colleague Carol Dweck and her book, MINDSET, where the concept of a fixed vs a growth mindset is discussed. I tought to myself, well what about people that have a fixed mindset…can then change it to a growth mindset or are the permanently stuck. Well, I’ll argue that hard work to change starts with 1. Identifying your limiting beliefs, 2. replacing them with positive thoughts, 3. practicing gratefulness for the chance to change, 4. setting small achievable goals, 5, being positive in pursuit of those goals, 6. surrounding yourself with supportive people and 7. seeking the guidance of a professional and you will have a great change of getting unstuck.
