We are always either expanding or contracting. While contracting isn’t the end of hope with respect to moving towards our goals, it is a slippery slope that might cause us to be self-punishing which leads to feeling helpless and increases the chances of becoming less interested in expanding. Therefore, you have to push yourself in small steps towards your youthful, curious persona that we are all born with and do it just for you and your own expansion because what you don’t know is always more important that what you do know.

The greatest part of having an idealistic goal is that it propels us forward each day and gives our lives true and deep meaning. However, when we first start chasing our ideal, we tend to ignore that the path will be filled with harsh lessons that will often stop us from continuing onwards. Although many hierarchies come with a negative dominance component, the great news is that the competence hierarchy is completely available for anyone to climb. The best way to advance is to focus on becoming more competent at what you love to do, don’t compare yourself to others and just keep climbing.

In life we always seem to be compromising on what we really want and accepting our plan B. While sure, plan B might be a great result in the eyes of many people, it’s still ac compromise on what we really wanted. The toughest part is that it plants the seeds of regret which tend to grow over time. However, it’s never too late to set a big goal and go relentlessly and resourcefully in the direction of achieving it. However, beware of your own animal brain and loved ones that want you to slow down. Stop compromising!

Many people start of with a fabulous goal for themselves that would fit them perfectly, however, they often don’t even take the first action step because they incorrectly assume that everybody else is doing the same thing and how could they ever compete. The fact is that a very small minority of people ever take action. So the simplest thing to do is a take the smallest easiest step to open up communication with someone in a power position that can help you succeed.
