This number is shocking to see anywhere, but more so when referring to a county that is seemingly more affluent. This just goes to show that no one is immune to food insecurity, regardless of what a situation may appear as.

This is why our guest on today’s episode founded KIND to ensure that children facing food insecurity have meals when they go home. Jeremy Lichtenstein has teamed up with his community to purchase, pack, and distribute meals by sending kids home on Friday with a backpack full of meals so they don’t go hungry over the weekend.

KIND’s operation is smooth and efficient, allowing for the most bags to be packed in the shortest amount of time, 115,000 food items in 30 minutes to be exact, and every dollar raised goes directly toward purchasing food for these children.
