As I sought input for talks to include on this list, the talk, "Beware of Pride" was mentioned repeatedly and is a fan favorite.  In this talk, President Benson teaches about the nature of pride.  Pride, at its core, is putting our will in competition with the Lord's will.  It is especially dangerous because it can be subtle and difficult to recognize in our own lives.  He sites many examples in the scriptures where pride was the downfall of individuals and nations.  The antidote for pride is humility, a broken heart and a contrite spirit.  It is aligning our will with the Lord's will.  We can choose to be humble.  Are there areas in your life where your will is not the Lord's will?

Often we read stories in the scriptures of people like Saul who sees the Lord while journeying on the road to Damascus and wish we could have a similar experience.  However, most often, we come to know the Savior as we learn to hear our Savior's voice and time time to listen to it.  As we seek to know the Lord's will and act on it, he will give us experiences, relationships, answers to prayers, and knowledge that, together, will create our road to Damascus.

Elder Holland expounds upon the story in Mark 9:14-27 of the father of an afflicted child who comes to Jesus seeking for his son to be healed.  The Lord says, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth" to which the father responds with tears, "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief."  Through this story Elder Holland teaches us to hold fast to the faith we have and what we already know when questions come.  Focusing on what you do know will help you stay strong until the answers to your questions do come.  When doubts or questions come, ask for help from others and from God.  As we do this throughout our life, our faith will grow.

Elder Dallin H. Oaks teaches us that, in a world filled with demands that compete for our time, it is important to recognize what is most important.  With so many good things out there it is important to prioritize the best things in our lives.  Are there good things that are taking priority over the best things in your life?

This moving talk was Elder Bruce R. McConkie's final conference talk before his death.  His declining health did not prevent him from sharing an impactful testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ.  This was the first time that the words to "I Believe in Christ", written by Elder McConkie, were shared with the public.  As you listen to Elder McConkie's testimony ponder your own testimony and the experiences you have had that have drawn you closer to our Savior.

President Benson, prophet from 1985-1994, teaches us about the importance of the Book of Mormon in our lives.  He teaches that the Book of Mormon is important to us because it is the keystone of our religion, was written for our day, and helps us draw nearer to God.  This talk is where the phrase "Keystone of our religion" originated.  In this talk, listen for ways that the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion.
