You’re the better bad guy

Who raised me from afar

You never taught me how to fly

But left me with pain in my heart

You never did enough

But It’s not your fault

That my entire world

Came to a grinding halt

I want to forgive and move on

Because it’s been so damn long

And even though it doesn’t feel right

You’ll always be the better bad guy

I’m so conflicted

I can’t agree

Do I need you in my life

To be complete and happy

There’s nothing to gain

Theres nothing lose

It’ll only end in vain

So how do I chose?

You’ve proven you can change

But is it all too late

The damage is done

Some things I just can’t escape

To be loved was all I ever wanted

To hear it once would have been enough

But instead left with memories tainted

And a father who never showed me love

Faced with the choice

I struggle to find my voice

A father who did me wrong

But no way near as bad as mum

So I want to forgive and move on

But no matter how hard I hard I try

When it comes down to it

I guess, you’re just the better bad guy
