Publisher's Summary:
Take your seven-day brain power challenge to increase brain power in seven days.
Why are you reading this? Because:
The human brain is a miraculous machine and the best computer that you will ever find. Every day your brain is challenged in ways you don't consider. Whether it's trying to remember a friend's phone number, trying to finish a report for work or school, or handling issues with other people, you rely on your brain to help you with your reasoning and creative problem-solving abilities.
There are many factors that come into play in how your brain operates. Everything you do, from the foods that you eat to the amount of exercise that you get each day, will affect your brain positively or negatively. The choices you make can also affect your ability to focus and remember, particularly bad choices that can lead to health consequences - depression, stress, and even dementia like Alzheimer's disease.
This is why it's important to maintain a healthy, active brain, so that it keeps functioning properly through common daily tasks. But what if your brain could do far more than it does now? If you were to bring out the full power of your brain, just think about what you could do.

Exercises that help you focus on your greatest asset
At first glance this seems like just another pseudo-science mambo jumbo worded attempt to appeal to peopleâs fascination and lack of understanding of how the brain works and how we can best utilize our brain function. On second glance it appears that the author has put together a well-written appeal for readers to revitalize their brain active. The thesis of the book states that our brains are like computers and need to be restarted every once in a while. The concept is sound and that is shown more and more through each chapter. It is a 7 day overhaul of the brain as a muscle.
The theory is that it is doing mundane things only and that through this course of action over a period of 7 days that function is renewed. New pathways are created and you your mind will be sharper and clearer. I especially liked the idea, in Chapter 5, of speed reading being used as a way to give your brain a killer workout. Every once in a while your brain needs something like that. I have always wanted to practice speed reading and when I tried it I wanted to make it a habit. At the end of the 7 days it does feel as if you are thinking in a different way.
Fantastic!
This book was much better than I was expecting when I purchased it. The first chapter was a little longer than I would have liked; I wanted it to get into meat of the matter â the heart of the book â and how this Brain Challenge can actually improve brain function and memory. It was a good introduction, but a little long in my opinion.
The rest of the book was very well written and extremely informative. It was explained in a way that anyone can understand, and in a tone that is conversational to anyone reading. It was structured in a way that is clear and easy to follow.
