My answer to this may not be what you think! I have always had an unhealthy relationship with food and struggled with distorted body image issues. It wasn't until I became ill and got diagnosed with Hashimoto's that things started to change for me, after years of eating extremes, guilt and self-hate. I wanted to share my perspective on the emotional side of eating that often isn't discussed, especially when we talk about healing diets, like the autoimmune protocol... because food isn't just a logical, functional thing for most of us. However, it can be a source of joy and healing if we approach it in the right way, recognise and heal our trauma, and are then able to shift our mindset/approach.
