In healing, we start to peel back the layers of our pain to discover what is dysregulating our nervous system.
When we people- please we get a hit of chemicals that make us feel good and acceptance.
But the cost of this is high. Often times in order to keep others happy and pleased with us, we are suppressing our thoughts, opinions, beliefs and emotions.
It causes our brains to be on high alert - looking for ways to avoid rejection.
This hyper-vigilance causes the brain to be hyper-vigilant. When it perceives we may not be in the good graces of someone it sends a warning signal of pain.
