7 SEALS?

Listen Later

Reading the book of Amos today, these verses in chapter 7 caught my eye

" 4. Does a lion roar in the thicket when it has no prey? Does it growl in its den when it has caught nothing?

5. Does a bird swoop down to a trap on the ground when no bait is there? Does a trap spring up from the ground if it has not caught anything?

6. When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it?

7. Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets."

notice in verse 6, it is clear it is the Lord that brings nation wide disasters. how many times do we blame the devil. but it is the lord.

when famine plagued the whole world and Egypt during the time of Joseph, 7 YEARS of abundance, 7 YEARS of famine, in genesis 41:25, Joseph said:

“The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. "

we are told it is the Lord who has determined to bring it.

from world war 1 to 2 to national diseases, famine, destruction, we learn throughout scripture that the lord brings these things on rebellious mankind,

he said in proverbs 14:34

" righteousness exalts a nation but sin, rebellion, is a reproach to any people

and in Joel 2:25, he says

"Though I sent my great army against you— those swarming locusts and hopping locusts, the destroying locusts and the cutting locusts that ate your crops..."

we see in these verses, God brings nation wide disasters. and all these culminates to the final end of Days that begins with the opening of the 7 seals in the book of revelation.
