📜 A Scroll from the King’s Desk: My understanding of Solomon's Ecclesiastes 5
Hear now the wisdom written from the King’s chamber:
1. Approach the presence of God with reverence.
Do not rush into His courts with careless words or empty promises. Let your steps be measured, your tongue disciplined, and your heart humble.
2. Let your words be few.
God sits in the heavens; you dwell on the earth. Honor that distance. Speak thoughtfully, for many words often reveal folly rather than wisdom.
3. Do not make rash vows.
If you declare something before God, fulfill it quickly. It is better to keep silent than to promise what you do not intend to perform. Your vow is your integrity.
4. Beware of the illusion of wealth.
Riches attract more consumers than comfort. The wealthy rarely sleep in peace, for abundance invites anxiety, not rest.
5. Greed is a trap.
The one who loves money will never be satisfied with money. The hunger for more destroys the joy of what is already in hand.
6. True reward comes from God.
To enjoy your labor, your food, your drink, and the portion assigned to you is a gift from the King Himself. When God gives a man wealth and the ability to enjoy it, He also shields him from sorrow.
7. Life is short, and possessions cannot follow beyond the grave.
A man enters the world naked and departs the same way. Labor done merely for riches is meaningless; labor done with gratitude is blessed.
