Maria van Lieshout is an artist, illustrator, and author who has created her first graphic novel, "Song of a Blackbird." At the heart of the book is Maria’s need, a mission, to educate young people here in the U.S. A recent study revealed 63% of Millennials and Gen Z'ers did not know 6 million Jews were murdered during WWII, with 1 in 10 respondents indicating they did not recall ever hearing the word “Holocaust” before.  2025 is the 80th anniversary of many events that occurred around the end of WWII.
