Cherries went down 2-1 at home to Arsenal in the Cup on Monday night, evidently with half an eye on the more substantial "cup tie" at the weekend against Aston Villa in the Premier League. Six changes were made and it was a below par AFC Bournemouth who somehow flattered themselves by producing a scoreline which, to the naked eye, suggests the contest was closer than it was.
