The Bates Motel may take the cake as the most macabre motel, but its body count pales in comparison to that of the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. So many people ended their lives at this hotel of horrors over the last 98 years that locals began calling it “The Suicide Hotel”. Having such a long history of death, it’s not surprising that not one, but TWO serial killers called it home during their killing sprees. No wonder it underwent a rebranding in 2013.
