  • Father killed by son; Woman assaulted in Sydney; Sexual abuse investigation continues
    A 36-year-old man is under police guard in hospital, accused of setting his father alight at their Glenmore Park home near Penrith. The victim died in his driveway after a violent altercation. A 41-year-old man was arrested at Mascot Police Station, where he had been earlier that day for assaulting a woman in Redfern. He was arrested again at 1:45 pm for preying on a 19-year-old woman and performing a sexual act. Hamish Tait's sexual abuse investigation continues. He has been charged with more than 300 offences involving 158 children over 16 years while working in childcare, mainly in Sydney's north-west.

    Three teenage boys, two aged 17 and one aged 15, have been charged with motor vehicle theft and released on bail following a crime rampage across Melbourne.     Ram raiders crashed a car through the front window of a furniture store in Tullamarine at approximately 4am before setting the vehicle alight.     A 47-year-old former Comancheros enforcer, known as the 'Balenciaga bikie', has been convicted and fined $750 for assaulting a security guard outside The George on Collins restaurant in Melbourne's CBD in August last year. The magistrate warned Zahed, who was on parole at the time, that he was 'too sensitive' after he shoved the guard because he believed the bouncer was mocking his eye, which he lost during a 2022 assassination attempt at a Sydney gym that killed his brother. Zahed was sent back to jail for six months for breaching parole and has been told to deal with his anger issues or face further imprisonment.
