In episode 8, we talk about how to protect our energy. So many of us go through the day putting ourselves in situations that take energy away from us without realizing how easily we can protect it and get it back. Four easy ways to start protecting your energy are:
Self Care: Be sure to create space for self-care throughout your entire day. This doesn’t have to be big, extravagant or expensive. Getting enough sleep, meditating, enough water, good food and movement all count as self care. Don’t underestimate what a 5 minute midday meditation can do for you!
Be aware of your limiting beliefs: Our inner dialogue is full of our ego telling us what we should and shouldn’t do. “Don’t eat lunch because you won’t get your work done.” “You’re a bad mom because you scheduled time for yourself away from your kids.” Recognize these limiting beliefs and turn them around. “Because you stopped to eat, the work you do after that will be on point!” “Taking time for yourself is going to make you such a good mom.”
You are what you eat. Be mindful of what and who you surround yourself with in a day. The news, what books are you reading, the people. If there is a lot of negativity, it’s time to clean house. Do this with love and compassion, always.
Only do what serves you. Ever have trouble saying no? Be mindful of this. It’s okay to say no to social days or work opportunities if they aren’t serving you and your core desired feelings. Again, say no with love and compassion.
My challenge for you this week is to take inventory of these areas and see how you can change one little thing to begin protecting your energy.
