PlayStation’s Bungie acquisition is becoming harder and harder to defend.

After spending nearly $4 BILLION on Bungie, Sony is now facing reports of layoffs, Destiny 2 winding down, Marathon struggling to gain players, and growing backlash over PlayStation’s obsession with live service games.

What was supposed to be Sony’s biggest move of the generation is now starting to look like one of the gaming industry’s biggest disasters.

In today’s video, 8-Bit Eric breaks down:

Bungie’s reported internal problems
Destiny 2 ending active development
Marathon’s weak player numbers
Sony’s live service strategy falling apart
PlayStation’s growing consumer backlash
Why gamers are getting tired of “forever games”
And why this entire situation could get even worse for PlayStation moving forward

Did Sony completely misread the market?
Can Bungie even recover from this?
And how many more live service failures is PlayStation willing to push before something changes?

8-Bit Eric covers gaming news, PlayStation news, PS5 controversy, gaming industry drama, Nintendo, Xbox, gaming culture, live service backlash, and honest gaming commentary.
