  • Deltarune, Another Activision Lawsuit, And Another Ubisoft Clone: 8 Bits (09.17.21)

By the time this comes out, I'll likely be playing more Deltarune, so excuse me if I lose myself to that for a few hours.

Also, as a reminder, I don't report on any rumors or leaks I can't independently verify myself, hence why there's no coverage of the Nvidia GForce Now leaks. Feel free and check out someone else's coverage of that, though, since it'll be really cool if some of those games ever come into fruition.

  • Playstation Showcase, Epic V. Apple, and The Benefits of Posting an Episode Late: 8 Bits (09.10.2021)

Playstation sure was busy this week, and some news broke Friday I was actually able to get to because I was super busy for two days.

Sorry for the late episode, but after not sleeping for almost 48 hours, I had to take a full day to just recover.
Let me know on twitter (@8BitsGG or @FrankieGodoy) if you like the episode posting on Sundays instead. I think I like the feel of posting later (earlier?) in the week.

  • The Midnight Suns of Dead Space: 8 Bits (09.03.21)

A dark sun rises in the dead of space, bringing with it a new season of game releases and video game news.

Also, I'm at PAX West this week in Seattle, so stay tuned for some report from the show if there's anything interesting there! I'll be sure to keep you all in the know <3

  • Some Gamescom and Some Games Go: 8 Bits (08.27.21)

Lots of news coming from Gamescom this week as the summer of video games reaches its conclusion. Starting next week, the floodgates open to all the new games this holiday season has in store, like Deathloop. I didn't get a preview copy, so don't expect any insider coverage that from me. Though, if anyone from Bethesda or Arkane sees this, I'd be more than welcome to chat about coverage :) ([email protected] btw)

Also, I'm gonna be at PAX West 2021, physically. I'm fully vaccinated and have all sorts of medical protective gear, so if there's anything cool from the show floor, I'll be sure to keep you in the know of it, as long as there are no more than eight things cuz, y'know, the brand.

  • Call of Duty Vanguard, Quakecon 2021, and The Zuckerverse: 8 Bits (08.20.21)

Call of Duty Vanguard is real, Quakecon 2021 is real, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's Metaverse is...real? Can a metaverse be real? Are we the metaverse?

While there's no discussion about the idea of metaphysical existence, or what existence is anyway, on this show, tune in to find out what other video game news happened this week. Hopefully our eventual digital existence isn't locked to the confines of a generic board room.

  • 8 Bits & Knuckles: An 8 Bits Speedrun Report (08.13.21)

Guess what? Not much happened this week, so I changed up the formula a little to make the news run even faster. So no, there aren't 8 Bits this week, because in this Speedrun, we have to skip a few. You know what they say: Gotta Go Fast!

  • For the Week of August 6th 2021

The fallout continues for Activision Blizzard this week, along with more changes in leadership happening elsewhere in the industry.

There was also a lot of financial info that came out this week, but nothing I could really expand upon existing reporting. Here's a quick summation: Nintendo sold a bunch of Switches, but is down this quarter compared to last year because Animal Crossing was super popular. Here's to hoping Samus is just as popular this fall as Tom Nook.

  • For the Week of July 30th 2021

So much happened this week that I almost didn't get this episode done in time because I got my days mixed up. I also had a gnarly migraine the whole time I was writing and editing, so bear with me if things aren't as good as they usually are. If they're better than usual, well maybe I should work with migraine more often.

The ripples of California v. Activision Blizzard are making their way throughout the industry, and this show! There's a lot to cover, so listen in for an overview of it all and some of the other big things that happened this week!

  • For the Week of July 23rd 2021

There's a lot of terrible things going on around the game industry that you should know about.

It's always hard covering stories like the ones featured in today's episode, particularly because, despite all the hardship that the people from these teams go through, they always manage to put together something fun in the end. I sympathize with all the workers, and I hope I can keep you informed on their hardships.

Not all is terrible this week though, so look out for the good stuff coming out of this week's episode.

The newest Steam tech is the Steam Deck!

Valve has come out of almost nowhere to shake up the holiday console wars. How will this effect Nintendo? Will it effect Nintendo?
Will you be picking up a Steam Deck? Frankly it looks pretty nifty.

Come listen to the rest of the news too!
