This week I spoke with Joel Warady of Enjoy Life Foods. Enjoy Life Foods has taken the leadership role in the allergy-free category. They have been instrumental in changing the way consumers look at and view product claims. Product claims are at the heart of all brand messaging. The challenge is that some product claims try to hide or cover-up a product's flaws. Joel helped Enjoy Life Foods successfully build a brand around what was missing from the product - the food allergens (as explained by Joel in this episode).
Shoppers want what they want. This is the story of a brand that identified the shopper's wants and needs before even the consumers were able to articulate them. The writing was on the wall. Food allergies and food recalls were a regular focus in the news. Enjoy Life Foods chose to go well beyond other brands to deliver an entirely new class of foods focused on products that are free of and consumer-friendly.
Joel shares the company's journey and how he was able to communicate the brand's message well beyond the packaging with a voice that resonated with shoppers. It developed a robust and loyal following that helped propel the brand into the mainstream consciousness and hearts of shoppers who struggle with food allergies.
