The BEST Self Care Tool?
Of course, the best tool that there is, is the one that works for YOU, BUT I truly and honestly believe that breathwork is one of, if not THE, best tool that you can carry in your self care/self healing toolbox for a number of different reasons.
Number 1: Unlike meditation, journaling, EFT, etc. Breathwork you can do anytime and anywhere. You don't have to sit and close your eyes in the middle of a traffic jam to calm your stress. You don't have to start tapping in the middle of a work meeting to release anxiety and you don't have to pull out a pen and start journaling in the middle of a fight with your spouse to find mental clarity. But you can simply, easily and effectively turn your focus to your breath in all of these situations.
Number 2: Breathwork is such a versatile tools with many different ways to practice that help combat all sorts of difficult feelings and situations. Anxious? Try breathwork. Stressed? Try breathwork. Can't sleep? Low on energy? Cold? Brain fog? Try breathwork. No matter what you are experiencing you can find a breathwork tool that works for you and your situation.
Number 3: The way that breathwork works, is that it calms the central nervous system in the body releasing that tightness in your throat, that sickness in your stomach feeling, that weight on your shoulders, while ALSO shifting your mental focus. Breath creates change in our physical body, mental body, emotional body and energy body. It's an incredible HOLISTIC mind-body-spirit tool.
Number 4: If you're a super busy person who cant find time for a regular self care routine, breathwork can provide you with self care without taking away from your life. You can do breathwork while you wash dishes, take a shower, fold laundry. It's a great way to make sure you are regulating yourself without needing a 30 minute meditation or an hour long yoga class.
