Adam graduated from Dartmouth in 1997 where he was the 1994 World Junior Champion and the 1997 NCAA Champion in the shot put. After college, Adam became was the silver medalist in the 2000 Olympic Games, gold medalist in the 2004 Olympic Games and gold medalist in the 2005 World Championships in the Shot Put.
