We are all having difficult conversations right now. These conversations cause cause overwhelming emotion and tension in the mind and body. We can’t avoid difficult conversations altogether, but we can navigate them more adeptly by learning to listen and communicate mindfully. This practice can remind us to stop the momentum of our default thinking by creating a little space to align with our intentions and let go of what’s not serving us such as stress, distractions, defenses, and attachments to how we would prefer things to be. We can then see more possibilities than the default choices and choose our actions to correspond with what we wish to bring to the world.
