Thursday 8 O’Clock Buzz host Tony Castañeda welcomes Madison Blues Society President Steve Porter onto the show in advance of the 2024 Chicago Blues Festival at Millenium Park June 6-9. The Society is hosting a bus trip to the free festival on Saturday, June 8, and there still are seats open. With an 8:15am departure and 12:30am return, you’ll be able to see and hear the entire day’s extraordinary lineup and travel there and back in safety and comfort with other blues lovers.
The Madison Blues Society has been “celebrating blues music in the greater Madison area” for most of the past 30 years, and makes it their mission to keep the blues alive. Becoming a member helps them bring great blues musicians to Madison and supports local musicians and venues that host live music, and ensures that you’ll always know about upcoming shows and bus trips.
Details, pricing and the schedule for Chicago Blues Festival can be found on the Madison Blues Society’s webpage, and information about the festival in general can be found on the Chicago Blues Festival homepage.
The thrill is definitely not gone.
