Shame is a fear response that isn’t based in truth. We know who we are in Christ. But when feel shame take over as our identity, it causes us to not be able to hear God’s voice clearly and causes us to ask the question “what if?”
This causes us to live in perpetual fear that makes our brains on edge looking out for ways we are “wrong”. Our brains perceive this as danger and send a warning to our body that we are not safe. BOOM. Chronic Pain.
