Our listener is stuck in a rut and wants our advice:
"How do I know if I should stay with my partner or not? I'm in my 50s, and I've been in my relationship with my partner for eight years. She's one of my oldest friends, and I love her tremendously, but she just can't be there for me emotionally, no matter how hard I ask her to be. I feel quite irritated and resentful towards her, even more so in the last year, I'm sick of being in this space, and if I was younger, I would leave, but I'm wondering if maybe I should stay for now, given we're so old, and maybe I can get emotional support from friends. She doesn't want therapy, and I just really feel stuck. I know she loves me, but is it enough?"
