Christians are called to Biblical transformation, not social conformity. But as the country preacher once said, "That's easy preaching, but hard living." The world is placing an increasing pressure on Christians to conform to secular society. So how do we navigate this issue? To answer this question, we will study the origins of Paul's letter to the Romans. The Gentile believers in Rome were shaken and few in numbers after the Jews' expulsion under the Emperor Claudius and could have easily been ashamed of their faith. But Paul admonished them to be bold and unashamed of the gospel in spite of the consequences. Modern Christians must make the same decision to transform into the image of Christ instead of conforming to the dictates of the world.
