Dean Sheremet is a TV host, chef, dancer, fitness expert, father, and politically active citizen. 

 

In this "Issue Is:" podcast extra, he tells Elex Michaelson about how he first became interested in politics. 

 

Sheremet grew up in Michigan. When faced with pursuing a career in dance or sports, he chose dance. 

 

That dancing took him to Hollywood where he'd meet his eventual wife, LeAnn Rimes. He'd marry her at age 20. 

 

After a divorce 8 years later, he re-evaluated his life and became serious about food. He'd work in some of the top restaurants in the world. 

 

He's now a frequent TV host, and fitness enthusiast. 

 

Most importantly, he's a father. He says that's changed his perspective on everything.
