대중목욕탕 출입 연령 제한 두고 논란 일어

Debate is brewing over a recent call by a group of public bathhouse owners for the government to lower the age limit on young male children entering female bathhouses. The Korea Federation of Public Bathhouses said that it was looking to lodge a formal complaint with the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the revision of the rule. Under the current law， only children under age 5 can enter opposite sex`s bath when accompanied by parents.

정부에 대해， 여자목욕탕에 출입하는 남자어린이의 연령 제한을 낮추자는 최근 대중목욕탕 주인들의 주장을 두고 논란이 일고 있다. 한국목욕업중앙회는 법 개정을 위해 보건복지부에 정식 건의하는 것을 검토 중이라고 말했다. 이번 조치는 상대방 성별의 목욕탕에 입장할 수 있는 어린이 연령에 대한 논란이 증가하면서 나온 것이다. 현행법에 따라， 5세 미만 아동만이 부모가 동반할 경우 상대방 성별의 목욕탕에 입장할 수 있다. 이를 어길 경우 목욕탕 주인들은 벌금 300만원을 부과 받는다. 그러나 특히 대중탕에 다니는 젊은 여성들의 비난이 커지고 있는데 이들은， 요즘 어린이들이 빠르게 성숙하고 있는 상황에서 불편을 느끼고 당황스럽다며 불만을 토로했다. 이에 반해 반대론자들은 5세는 부모와 함께 가지 않기에는 너무 어린 나이라고 주장했다. 대중목욕탕 주인들은 5세에서 4세로 연령을 낮출 것을 주장하고 있다.
