She Doesn't Settle

81: The Science Behind Strength Training and Anti-Aging

Listen Later

This week, I want to talk to you about strength training, how it can actually help with anti-aging goals, and just what exactly that looks like. I’ve always been a huge fan of lifting weights – it makes me feel so damn good and powerful – and it also has some really incredible health benefits, all backed up with science, that I’m just so excited to dive into with you today.

We’ll begin by looking at the effects of aging, and then review 3 health areas that can be greatly impacted through strength training. I’ll also settle the debate about the impact of this training on weight loss and management, and give you some ideas about how to get started in one of the two types of strength training. Listen in today to learn how lifting heavy stuff could be one of the single most helpful things at your disposal for defying age – putting on muscle now will pay huge dividends in the future.

Don’t forget that I’m opening up enrollment for an Ascend Mastermind this month, which, in response to some valuable feedback I’ve received, will now be a six month program. If you’re a high achieving entrepreneur or high level professional who is ready to uplevel your health and well-being (mental, emotional, physical) while creating and pursuing goals you actually want then this Mastermind is the perfect opportunity for you. You’ll get to strengthen your habits, get clear on what you want and be held accountable by, and find support among like-minded women as you ascend.
