Identity can be a weird thing. The way we think of ourselves, how we define ourselves, the story we tell ourselves about who we are, all of that comes together to create our identity.
But what happens when we reach a crossroads where we are clear that we have to let go of a certain part of our identity - or pehaps all of it entirely?
In this solo episode, Dina unpacks a topic that doesn't get enough attention, and that's grief. But not in the sense you would think. We talk about grieving the loss of an identity we have let go of in order to move forward.
For many women, they have planted the seeds of courage to go after their truth and what truly matters to them. But it's not a process that is without its moments of uncertainty and doubt. It's a veritable rollercoaster of emotions. Mourning the loss of the person you used to be, the relationships that you built around that identity and the dreams that no longer serve you. And all the while, realizing that letting go is the only way to grow.
Dina shares how taking the time to reflect on your identity is not only necessary, it's a radical act of self-determination, acknowledging pieces that will never be the same and establishing new pieces of the self that are built on things that came before.
