How To Make $50,000 In The Music Industry In 2021

I’m going to do something I’ve never done in the caption before.

Imma analyze my own video.

Why?

Because this video was filmed on December 30, 2020 and it was released today.

Things have changed since then because technology and business moves at a lightning pace.

Here’s what’s changed:

1. Spotify isn’t just $4,000 for 1M streams. The amount you get paid for 1M streams is based on a number of factors (paid vs free stream, location of stream, ad revenue that month, etc.)

2. That Lil Wayne video has 250,000 views and has now earned me $2,460.12

3. We no longer do the Spotify showcases every week. They do pay well but our business priorities have shifted. We’ll let you know if we do another one.

4. 2 days after I filmed this video, I charted #1 on iTunes for the first time.

This video doesn’t Include publishing revenue for True Support, royalties for my other music, ad money for non Live YouTube videos, book sales, merch sales and any revenue from Group82Music.com.

Yet, we still got over $50,000.
