Jesus covered sins price and ended deaths dominance.
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. Romans 3:22-25 NLT
We are all completely lost without Jesus!
As long as you did what you felt like doing, ignoring God, you didn't have to bother with right thinking or right living, or right anything for that matter. But do you call that a free life? What did you get out of it? Nothing you're proud of now. Where did it get you? A dead end. But now that you've found you don't have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! Work hard for sin your whole life and your only payment is death. But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master. Romans 6:20-23 MSG
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? Matthew 16:24-26 NLT
To take up your cross is to lay your life down and give all that you are to Him.
It’s a blessing to die to self and live in Christ!
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 NLT
It took both the cross and the empty tomb to do the work of redemption.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Romans 10:10-11 NLT
Faith that’s deep on the inside will always make it to the outside.
Death has a way of dealing a death blow to future hope and God ordained dreaming.
So they rushed back from the tomb to tell his eleven disciples—and everyone else—what had happened. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and several other women who told the apostles what had happened. But the story sounded like nonsense to the men, so they didn’t believe it. Luke 24:8-11 NLT
That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them. But God kept them from recognizing him. He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?” They stopped short, sadness written across their faces. Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days.” Luke 24:13-18 NLT
Even in moments of doubt and desperation Jesus doesn’t abandon us.
They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” And within the hour they were on their way back to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven disciples and the others who had gathered with them… Luke 24:32-33 NLT
The God who overcame death is here to lead us into the life He wills for us.
It takes faith to follow God.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
Waiting for God’s will without faith is like breathing without inhaling.
Those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 NKJV
The substance of hope is the faith I have in who God is, what He has promised, and how He loves me!
A lot of faith in nothing significant or faith-worthy is worthless, but even a relatively small amount of faith in God is priceless.
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. Luke 17:5 NLT
Put the faith you have in our great big God and see God work.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 NKJV
Faith attaches us to what is rightfully ours in the Lord.
If you put your faith in who God is, you’ll want and get what God wills, and be glad you did!
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 ESV
True faith will inspire and empower a persistent will to follow God.
To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.
Thomas Aquinas
We walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3 ESV
What defines our faith is what we do not how we feel.
Faith unlocks an invisible realm of relationship with God that is priceless and powerful.
It's impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 MSG
Faith is the substance
That makes hope real
Anchored in our sovereign Lord
It’s the blessed assurance
That Jesus is mine
And He has a plan to restore
Even when I can’t see
I’ll trust and rely
On my history of Him coming through
Faith not in my faith
But faith in His love
To follow is what I will do.

SERMON NOTES
Jesus was on His way to die to put an end to death.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5 ESV
The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:9-14 ESV
Jesus knew from the beginning this week would come.
The priority Jesus put on people, from beginning to end, says a lot about the love He has for us.
Jesus has always been bigger and stronger than death.
Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed him. A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said. Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.” Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother. Luke 7:11-15 NLT
If you feel like the unwanted bearers of brokenness are carrying you to the grave, I know a guy who can stop a funeral.
Jesus relentless love and resolute determination to defeat death took Him to the cross.
Death brought this thief to the place of dying, love took him to a place in Paradise.
One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:39-43 ESV
In His most difficult moment the Messiah was focused on saving others not himself.
“It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30 ESV
Don’t spend your life in debt to sin when Jesus paid the price to make you free.
And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many. When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:51-54 ESV
At the crack of dawn on Sunday, the women came to the tomb carrying the burial spices they had prepared. They found the entrance stone rolled back from the tomb, so they walked in. But once inside, they couldn't find the body of the Master Jesus. They were puzzled, wondering what to make of this. Then, out of nowhere it seemed, two men, light cascading over them, stood there. The women were awestruck and bowed down in worship. The men said, "Why are you looking for the Living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Luke 24:1-6 MSG
Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus once more began to describe everything that was about to happen to him. “Listen,” he said, “we’re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die and hand him over to the Romans. They will mock him, spit on him, flog him with a whip, and kill him, but after three days he will rise again.” Mark 10:33-34 NLT
Many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!” Mark 11:8-10 ESV
Jesus has a plan that is beyond what you know our understand.
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all. Isaiah 53:5-6 NLT
Satan thought he could put life to death.
Jesus is literally walking His way to His own funeral and is on His way to put death to death.
Satan saw Jesus as the sacrifice but missed on Him as the Savior.
Jesus and the life He brings with His Word, Wisdom, and Will is unquantifiable!
A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. John 10:10 MSG
Not only did Jesus cover sins penalty, but in defeating death, He overcame sins power.
But now that you've found you don't have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! Work hard for sin your whole life and your wage is death. But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master. Romans 6:22-23 MSG
Certain guest we expect to see at these occasions.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Ps 34:18 ESV
But that’s not the full guest list, not for the child of God! -
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matt 5:4 ESV
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13 ESV
The unexpected gifts God gives on our darkest days came at a great cost and come with love and compassion.

SERMON NOTES
In this series, we’ll unpack the incredible journey from captivity to freedom and promise.
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 NLT
With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes. Psalm 108:13 ESV
Victory is a promised gift God offers to everyone that will accept and receive.
Intentionally Follow
As soon as you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God being carried by the Levitical priests, then you shall set out from your place and follow it. Joshua 3:3 ESV
Fighting without following is a sure way to find yourself perpetually wandering without winning.
When the whole nation was finally across, GOD spoke to Joshua: "Select twelve men from the people, a man from each tribe, and tell them, 'From right here, the middle of the Jordan where the feet of the priests are standing firm, take twelve stones. Carry them across with you and set them down in the place where you camp tonight.” Joshua 4:1-3 MSG
The people crossed the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month. Then they camped at Gilgal, just east of Jericho. It was there at Gilgal that Joshua piled up the twelve stones taken from the Jordan River. Joshua 4:19-20 NLT
And then he told the People of Israel, "In the days to come, when your children ask their fathers, 'What are these stones doing here?' tell your children this: 'Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry ground.’ "Yes, GOD, your God, dried up the Jordan's waters for you until you had crossed, just as GOD, your God, did at the Red Sea, which had dried up before us until we had crossed. This was so that everybody on earth would recognize how strong GOD's rescuing hand is and so that you would hold GOD in solemn reverence always.” Joshua 4:21-24 MSG
Remember to Remember
Choosing to remember the victories rather than the defeats is the Godly way to learn to win!
When all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings who lived along the Mediterranean coast heard how the LORD had dried up the Jordan River so the people of Israel could cross, they lost heart and were paralyzed with fear because of them. Joshua 5:1 NLT
Often it’s not the obstacle but what’s waiting on the other side that keeps us from moving forward.
Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the shame of your slavery in Egypt.” So that place has been called Gilgal to this day. While the Israelites were camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, they celebrated Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month. Joshua 5:9-10 NLT
Leave Egypt in Egypt.
Shame is the enemy’s way of telling you that you can never win, redemption is God’s way of showing you that you already have!
The very next day they began to eat unleavened bread and roasted grain harvested from the land. No manna appeared on the day they first ate from the crops of the land, and it was never seen again. So from that time on the Israelites ate from the crops of Canaan. Joshua 5:11-12 NLT
Live in the Land of Promise
Don’t let the miracle of Mercy cause you to miss on the greatness of Grace.
While Joshua was there near Jericho: He looked up and saw right in front of him a man standing, holding his drawn sword. Joshua stepped up to him and said, "Whose side are you on—ours or our enemies’?" He said, "Neither. I'm commander of GOD's army. I've just arrived." Joshua fell, face to the ground, and worshiped. He asked, "What orders does my Master have for his servant?” Joshua 5:13-14 MSG
Value the presence of God!
A preference for His presence should preempt any choice that doesn’t line up with His will.!
In the presence of God we find power for winning and a reservoir of joy no enemy can overcome

SERMON NOTES
In this series, we’ll unpack the incredible journey from captivity to freedom and promise.
The LORD now said to Moses, “Send out men to explore the land of Canaan, the land I am giving to the Israelites. Send one leader from each of the twelve ancestral tribes. Numbers 13:1-2 NLT
Moses gave the men these instructions as he sent them out to explore the land: “Go north through the Negev into the hill country. See what the land is like, and find out whether the people living there are strong or weak, few or many. See what kind of land they live in. Is it good or bad? Do their towns have walls, or are they unprotected like open camps? Is the soil fertile or poor? Are there many trees? Do your best to bring back samples of the crops you see.” (It happened to be the season for harvesting the first ripe grapes.) Numbers 13:17-20 NLT
God’s revelation includes logistics for liberty, intel on the enemy, and a glimpse of the promise as motivation to step into victory.
But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!” Numbers 13:32 NLT
God’s word and will should always be the majority of opinion.
But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: “The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!” Numbers 13:31-33 NLT
If the choice we’re making is the opposite of what God wills, we’re heading to the wilderness not the promised land.
After the death of Moses the LORD’s servant, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you from the Negev wilderness in the south to the Lebanon mountains in the north, from the Euphrates River in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west, including all the land of the Hittites.’ No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. Joshua 1:1-5 NLT
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Joshua 1:7-8
Real victory comes from knowing His word in your heart and choosing not to deviate from His instructions.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 ESV
Courage is God’s miraculous remedy for the challenging choices He calls us to make.
Then the two men returned. They came down from the hills and passed over and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and they told him all that had happened to them. And they said to Joshua, “Truly the LORD has given all the land into our hands. And also, all the inhabitants of the land melt away because of us.” Joshua 2:23-24 NLT
Only talk about your need and promise with people who see with faith filled eyes and offer God graced wisdom.
As soon as you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God being carried by the Levitical priests, then you shall set out from your place and follow it. Joshua 3:3 ESV
You’ve never been this way before. So establish a practice of following the presence.
Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you. Joshua 3:5 ESV
Setting yourself apart for God may not be cultural norm, but neither is freedom and promise.
So when the people set out from their tents to pass over the Jordan with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people, and as soon as those bearing the ark had come as far as the Jordan, and the feet of the priests bearing the ark were dipped in the brink of the water (now the Jordan overflows all its banks throughout the time of harvest), the waters coming down from above stood and rose up in a heap very far away, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan, and those flowing down toward the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. And the people passed over opposite Jericho. Joshua 3:14-16 ESV
Faithfully following God, even in the unknown, is a front row seat to see the Savior fight and win for you!

SERMON NOTES
In this series, we’ll unpack the incredible journey from captivity to freedom and promise.
Exactly two months after the Israelites left Egypt, they arrived in the wilderness of Sinai. After breaking camp at Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and set up camp there at the base of Mount Sinai. Then Moses climbed the mountain to appear before God. The LORD called to him from the mountain and said, “Give these instructions to the family of Jacob; announce it to the descendants of Israel: ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.” Exodus 19:1-6 NLT
God’s promises are experienced in covenant and empowered by Grace.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8 ESV
Real freedom is found when I put faith in who God is, what God has done, and what He wills for me to do.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 ESV
The journey to promise includes instructions for for living!
When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. “Come on,” they said, “make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.” Exodus 21:1 NLT
The presumptive nature of impatience is already arrogant, but to go so far as to make god’s of gold when God has been so good is incredible.
A lack of patience often only lengthens the wait.
Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7 NLT
All the people took the gold rings from their ears and brought them to Aaron. Then Aaron took the gold, melted it down, and molded it into the shape of a calf. When the people saw it, they exclaimed, “O Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of the land of Egypt!” Exodus 32:3-4 NLT
Impatience in the process can seduce you into believing your bondage was a blessing.
The LORD told Moses, “Quick! Go down the mountain! Your people whom you brought from the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. How quickly they have turned away from the way I commanded them to live! They have melted down gold and made a calf, and they have bowed down and sacrificed to it. They are saying, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.’” Exodus 32:7-8 NLT
When they came near the camp, Moses saw the calf and the dancing, and he burned with anger. He threw the stone tablets to the ground, smashing them at the foot of the mountain. He took the calf they had made and burned it. Then he ground it into powder, threw it into the water, and forced the people to drink it. Exodus 32:19-20 NLT
It was Moses’ practice to take the Tent of Meeting and set it up some distance from the camp. Everyone who wanted to make a request of the LORD would go to the Tent of Meeting outside the camp. Whenever Moses went out to the Tent of Meeting, all the people would get up and stand in the entrances of their own tents. They would all watch Moses until he disappeared inside. As he went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and hover at its entrance while the LORD spoke with Moses. When the people saw the cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, they would stand and bow down in front of their own tents. Inside the Tent of Meeting, the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting.
Exodus 33:7-11 NLT
If you neglect the tent of meeting, you and everyone you’re meant to impact will suffer.

SERMON NOTES
In this series, we’ll unpack the incredible journey from captivity to freedom and promise.
“Soon I will die,” Joseph told his brothers, “but God will surely come to help you and lead you out of this land of Egypt. He will bring you back to the land he solemnly promised to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” Genesis 50:24 NLT
Eventually, a new king came to power in Egypt who knew nothing about Joseph or what he had done. Exodus 1:8 NLT
So the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. They appointed brutal slave drivers over them, hoping to wear them down with crushing labor. They forced them to build the cities of Pithom and Rameses as supply centers for the king. Exodus 1:11 NLT
If you get comfortable with your captivity you’ll likely miss the miracle of freedom.
“Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.”
Never underestimate the lengths to which God will go to deliver you from captivity.
Captive No More
When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea. Exodus 13:17-18 NLT
Phase one of deliverance is trusting the direction of the deliverer.
The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night. And the LORD did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people. Exodus 13:21-22 NLT
Order the Israelites to turn back and camp by Pi-hahiroth between Migdol and the sea. Camp there along the shore, across from Baal-zephon. Exodus 14:1-2 NLT
The process of freedom and restoration requires a path picked by God not by you.
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV -
GOD said to Moses: Why cry out to me? Speak to the Israelites. Order them to get moving.
Exodus 14:15 MSG
Hold your staff high and stretch your hand out over the sea: Split the sea! The Israelites will walk through the sea on dry ground. Meanwhile I'll make sure the Egyptians keep up their stubborn chase. I’ll use Pharaoh and his entire army, his chariots and horsemen, to put my Glory on display so that the Egyptians will realize that I am GOD. Exodus 14:16-18 MSG
Then the angel of God, who had been leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp. The pillar of cloud also moved from the front and stood behind them. The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. As darkness fell, the cloud turned to fire, lighting up the night. But the Egyptians and Israelites did not approach each other all night. Exodus 14:19-20 NLT
Will you trust God enough to obediently follow Him to freedom and deliverance?
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10 ESV
For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. Luke 19:10 NLT
Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20 NLT
For His Kingdom to come, we have to be willing to Go.
Go isn’t just a reference to geographical movement but I willingness to follow God into whatever He wills.
So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life, your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life, and place it before God as an offering. Romans 12:1 MSG
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 ESV
The God who called you is able to do what the God who called you called you to do.
Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. James 1:27 MSG
Yes to God is not just yes to the concept, but yes to the process of learning Kingdom living.
Learn to do good. Work for justice. Help the down-and-out. Stand up for the orphan. Go to bat for the defenseless. Isaiah 1:17 MSG
So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith. Galatians 6:9-10 MSG
Hi. You introduced me to Jesus… Forever Grateful.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere, in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 NLT
Give up your small ambitions, come with me to save the world. - St. Francis Xavier
Remember this a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NLT
He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 2 Corinthians 9:10 ESV
-POEM-
It’s not what I can’t do
but what I can do
that I am responsible for
You’ve simply called me
to walk out your will
and let you keep the score
I cannot measure
my earthly impact
from an earthly point of view
When I trust and try
and do my best
That’s when I honor you.
And then, something miraculous happens…
You come and multiply
The gifts I give to you
And do much more
than I could dream
To make your will
Come true
What can I do?
I can do what you ask me to
And that I will do
And pray, and give, and go and work
Believing you will do the rest
To meet the needs beyond my reach
if I will give my best.
