So what does that mean?So  plagiarism, the noun, and  plagiarize, the verb, is very similar to copying, where you copy someone's words or work.  But instead of using copying, plagiarize has a negative connotation.  Because sometimes when you're copying something it can just be something simple, it could not be in a bad sense.   But plagiarize, whenever you say “plagiarize” there is a negative connotation and it means that you're doing something wrong.  So another situation where you're working with a partner.  And you have to finish an essay for school.  There's no time and you want to finish early.  So your friend suggests, “Let's go to Google and copy an essay online and write our name on it.”  And you would say something like this,“That's plagiarism.  We'll get in trouble.  Let's just write it in our own words.”“The teacher said plagiarism is not allowed.”“If you plagiarize you will fail the class.”  So in this way, you're using plagiarism to describe copying the work from Google into your own essay.  So simply, if you want to describe  plagiarism it is  “stealing the words as your own”.  And the opposite of plagiarism is “writing it in your own words”.  So if you need more information or you would like the full transcript go to Practicus.co.kr.  Have a great and take care.
