    He says one of them will betray Him, and they stare at each other. Nobody guesses. After three years, Judas was indistinguishable.

    Twelve men walked in on dusty roads and sat down with dirty feet rather than be the one to do it.

    Three years of signs, and John stops to do the math out loud. A lot of the leaders did believe — they just wouldn't say so.


    Day 36 of 55 through the Gospel of John. We're in John 12:37-50: the end of Jesus' public ministry, two quotations from Isaiah, people who loved human praise more than praise from God, and a closing statement that's an offer rather than a threat.
