Modern Motherhood for the Country Soul

9. Bullying: with my favourite guest, Bristol.

Listen Later

In this episode, I sit down for a deeply meaningful conversation with one of my favorite people—Bristol, a bright and thoughtful 5th grader who joined me to talk about Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week. Together, we dive into what bullying really looks like, how it’s different from playful teasing, and the tough moments that can come when someone who calls themselves a friend starts acting like a bully. Bristol shares her honest perspective on standing up for yourself, recognizing controlling behaviors, and what kids see and experience every day.

We also talk about the importance of social–emotional skills, why some kids bully, and how parents can help support their children through both the big feelings and the hard situations. This conversation is tender, insightful, and full of the kind of honesty only a child can bring. I’m so grateful Bristol joined me for this one—her voice adds a clarity adults often forget to listen for.
