Today we're joined by Christine Kammerer (Jotun Revolution, Gjaldulei), Kjell Braaten (Wardruna, Nebala), and of course Rune Hjarnø Rasmussen of Nordic Animism to discuss the music project Raven Brings Runes.
Raven Brings Runes is a song bridging the worlds of Animism and Music to create a discursive music experience which seeks to reconnect ourselves with humans and non-human persons alike, to transcend national borders, and cultivate a stronger sense of solidarity and hope in the face of an absolutely fucked global ecosystem. (Not usually so brash here, but this is one issue I don't sugar coat.)
But, can music actually make a difference in this regard? It is just pretty sound after all - what can it really do for the environment? Tune in to hear our thoughts on the matter from a diverse range of perspectives from musicology, to performer, to historian of religion.
