• While the downtown hotel project that was previously awarded $7 million in TIF is off the table, the city is moving forward with plans to demolish the parking garage at Fourth and Washington streets as part of efforts to redevelop the site. University of Illinois Springfield is considering three potential locations nearby for a downtown campus.
• Farmstead Primitive Co. in Chatham is in the process of relocating and will reopen in a new, larger location Feb. 1.
• Mosquito Joe has the building at 1831 S. 11th St. under contract, contingent upon a zoning change.
